Forbes. The Town Hall facing Victoria Squ. Gold royalties permitted a grand structure. The part with the corner tower finished in 1891. The left hand part was the first Town Hall about 1870 when Forbes became a municipality.

Cowell on Franklin Harbour. The fancy ceiling of the Cowell Institue which was built in 1912.. The old 1892 Institute was demolished in 1911.

Maryborough. A replica of the Mary Ann steam train built at Walkers Foundryby Olds and Sons. The original train was built in 1873 to cut timber from the hinterlands of Cooloola Creek. Now operates as a tourist train in Queens Park.

Cummins. The old flourmill is now a general miling and fodder factory but also still does flour. Established 1930.

Broken Hill cemetery. Headstone in the Muslim section for Gunny Khan. Middle Eastern script on the headstone. Erected by Dost Mahomet who was a cameleer on the Burke and Wills expedition of 1860.

Wirrabara. The fine old foot pump bellows church organ in the Catholic Church. The church was consecrated in 1934.

Farina ghost town in the Flinders Ranges. This is the old railway bridge as seen from below in the creek bed. The Great Northern Railway to Farina reached here in 1882.

Snowtown. The former English Scottish and Australian bank built in 1883. The gable was redesigned and altered around 1900.

Yacka. On the Broughton River. The Wesleyan Methodists bought this land in 1875 and the church was erected in 1881. Still in use as a Uniting Church.

Cummins. The stone wall in this building is part of the 1930 flourmill. Cummins Milling still provides flour for the local bakery.

Moorook on the Murray. This stone Institute was built in 1933 but the first part was built in 1896 as the communistic Village Settlement state school.

Gladstone. The guards residence. and prison offices facing the street. Built 1879 to 1881. Closed 1939. Now permanently closed by the government.

Laura. SA. The Laura Courthouse was completed in 1878. Elements of the original courthouseset up have been kept although it is now a very good local Art Gallery. .

Family and Shipping Butchers. Ellen Street Port Pirie. Built 1899. Note finely modelled pig bull and sheep across pediment. Providing meat for towns folk and ships in the port.

Wirrabara. The 1884 Institute closed 1912. It was vacant and then a furniture shop for decades. In 1964 it was converted into an Anglican Church. The 1908 foundation stone was used from an earlier Anglican church .

Broken Hill. The galvanised iron Gohic style Picton Methodist church erected around 1890. Moved to this Kaolin St site 1911. Closed some time after it became a Uniting Church in 1977. Recently sold.

Moorook. On the wall of the General Store and Post Office is this mural of the River Murray and the Paddle Steamer Marion.

Birdwood. Old stone cottage and shop with a parapet along the roof line. Dates from the 1850s. Now an antiques shop .Next to the old flourmill which is now the National Motor Museum.

Coonalpyn. The Coonalpyn state school built in 1927. The first state school opened in Coonalpyn in 1889 after the intercolonial railway from Adelaide to Melbourne passed through here.

Harrow. Australia Felix country. The former Presbyterian Church made of local bricks in 1879 and opened in 1880. Now the Uniting Church. This replaced the original 1860 church.
