Grenfell. The old flourmill. Built in 1901 after the railway from Cowra reached the town. Named the Challenge mill but later changed. Closed probably in the 1960s like most flourmills.

Bendigo. MacKenzie Street. The old Congregational Church. Architect was William Vahland. Built in 1890.Opposite it was the old Catholic Pro Cathedral designed by Vahland and built 1869.

Edenhope. Pretty flower garden in front of the the Lutheran Church. Built in 1916 as an Anglican Church but now the Lutheran.

Geelong. The three platformed railway station. It was built in 1877. Cast iron posts are originals.

Panorma of a ghost town. All that is left are the ruins of the hotel 1883, two churches, the government school 1885 and the tin local hall built in 1926.

Beechworth. The Ovens Goldfields Hospital built between 1857 and 1864 was erected in classical palladian style. It opened in 1857. It was demolished in 1940 leaving just the granite front. View from the rear.

Gulgong. Henry Beaufoy Merlin and Charles Bayliss photographed Gulgong gold rush in 1872. 500 glass plate negatives are now the Holtermann Collection Museum. UNESCO heritage listed. Bark slab hut.

Charters Towers. One of a series of fine moasic murals at the GoldTower Shopping Centre. Aboriginal boy Jupitor Mosman found gold in 1871. Mural depicts Stock Exchange and historic buildings and banks. .

Buninyong near Ballarat. This cottage was erected in 1851 for Thomas Hiscock the man who discovered the first gold of the Ballarat goldfields in August 1851. Hiscock died in 1855. The cottage is well maintained.

Maryborough. An Aboriginal breast plate for King Tommy of the Mungo Aboriginal people. Found in 1921 and located in the School of Arts building Maryborough. This 1888 School of Arts is now a town museum.

Geelong. 11 Malop Street. Built as London Charted Bank in 1860. Basalt side walls but sandstone classical front. Almost fort like. Became an English Scottish and Australian Bank in 1921. Now other uses.
