| 説明 | Following Tower Bridge the Thames Path makes its way ever eastwards through Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Deptford and as daylight receded keeping to the official route became progressively problematic. There is a great deal of development going-on all along the side of the river, I was obliged to follow frequent diversion signs pointing away from the river and had to make the best of it. Frankly, the official Thames Path is impossible to follow around here and a streetmap would be great to provide the navigation that the official route guide can not. The Path bypasses the O2 Arena but although that weird structure was sometimes visible I found no way to get to it. However it was now clear to me that "wild-camping" was not going to be an option. I checked out some open green spaces in the Greenwich areas but decided against it and reconciled to keeping on walking through the night, for this is a city that never sleeps. There are some wonderful nightscape city views to enjoy. |
