| 説明 | This may look banal, but it's actually very exciting. Aggravating too, yet exciting at the same time. See that sign that says "DO NOT BLOCK TRAIL"? That is the first official signage recognizing the trail that will soon be built in the Lafitte Corridor. Exciting! The trail itself does not exist yet. Ground won't be broken for months. But actually that bit of poured concrete behind the sign represents the first actual construction. Winn-Dixie built that piece as they put up their new store in Mid-City. Yes, this is the dreaded and controversial greenway crossing. That's the aggravating part. Mayor Mitch Landrieu actually called me about this crossing a year or two ago. If the trail had already been built, I bet this crossing would not have been allowed. It's a bad precedent. But oh well. Gotta pick your battles. |
