| 説明 | Looking NNE from ramp connecting southbound I-71 to westbound I-64, just west of Adams St.Beyond fence in foreground is Thruston Park, which contained land on both sides of River Road from Adams St. east to Beargrass Creek, in an area once known as "the Point".At far left, behind the utility pole, is the backstop for a ball field. At right is another ball field (with dirt infield) as well as swing sets and a pavilion.Right of center is the facade of the Heigold House (in sunlight, facing River Road) and behind that, Paget House (scroll down), which faces Fulton St.In 2007, the Heigold House facade was moved to the intersection of River Road and Frankfort Ave.As of 2013, Paget House is still at the same location, though much has changed around it, including the fact that this stretch of River Road has been relocated about 150 feet to the south and widened to four lanes, and the RiverPark Place apartments and marina have been built nearby. I think there are plans to restore the building and use it as a restaurant.Left of center is a storage tank at the Shell Oil terminal..Ohio River mile 603.Louisville, Kentucky.January 1988.File # 88a089..35 mm Kodachrome.Plustek OpticFilm 7600i and Silverfast 8.Picture Window 6.JPEG quality 95. |
