| 説明 | The building of the Evangelical Church, known to locals as the "Red Church", is a great attraction. The name comes from the exterior finishing, made of red ornamental polished brick. The works for the church building began in March 1905, being led by architect Ludovick Szantay from Arad, the author of the project of this architectural monument. General contractor was Fiche Lajos from Arad. The construction lasted little over a year, the church being finished in September 1906. The consecration of the church took place in 1906 in the presence of Bishop Sarany Samuel. The church is built in neo-Gothic style. The main construction materials were stone, brick and concrete. The main tower has a height of 46 feet and the altar is a work of sculpture in neo-Gothic style. The pulpit was executed by sculptor Orr Gyorgy of Kosice. The altar's painting has the theme "Prayer of Jesus in the Ghetiman garden" and was executed by the painter I. Umlauf since 1848. |
