| 説明 | (Project 365 Day 284)So this is a situation where I was pretty confused. I was driving parallel to the train tracks, and there were two lanes going in my direction. I was in the right lane (which was not a right-turn-only lane), light's green, got my right turn signal on, but then then the railroad crossing barriers start coming down! Now, my light, parallel to the tracks, is still green, but there's also this sign with letters that light up white that say, "NO RIGHT TURN", since I can't turn through the tracks. So I stop at the intersection and wait for the trains to pass (turned out there were two), but meanwhile I'm wondering if I'm breaking any laws. I mean, my light's green, but I'm not moving. I see two interpretations:1) This is just as if there were a pedestrian crossing while I want to make a right turn, except it's a train instead of a pedestrian, and it's perfectly legal for me to wait on the green.2) While the train is passing, the intersection suddenly turns into a no right turn intersection, in which case I have no legitimate reason to be stopped at the intersection.Which is it?In the end, it didn't matter too much, because there were two lanes and not much traffic, so anyone who wanted to go straight through could just drive around me. The cars waiting behind me probably wanted to make right turns, too, because they waited patiently without honking.Still, it seemed like a very ambiguous situation to me. |
