| 説明 | The Sandyford (Green) Luas Tram line was extended to Cherrywood. Construction started in February 2007 and the line became operational in October 2010. There are now two Luas stops in Cherrywood: Cherrywood and the terminus, Bride's Glen.In 1998 the first office-buildings were developed in the Cherrywood Business Park but development proceeded slowly. As of July 2013 several of the buildings are still empty while other planned developments were never completed. The total the area is approximately 400 acres. As with many planned developments in Ireland, the property crash in 2008 affected this development: groundwork had started on the new national headquarters for Royal Bank of Scotland and other office blocks, but several planned developments where halted. In 2012 investors created a new management company marketing the area again after the collapse of Liam Carroll's group. Backed by AIB Bank and Danske Bank (mother company of National Irish Bank). The area received a facelift: the main under-ground concrete foundation was filled in offering some extra open parking area. Also the "Facilities Building", which until now only has a Subway outlet is actively being marketed to attract new renters for restaurant or other services. There are also plans to ask IKEA to open their 2nd Irish shop and a large Park and Ride LUAS stop is also under consideration at Bride's Glen LUAS terminus. The main tenant in the development is Dell computers which has its Dublin Campus located here. |
