No famous poets or musicians lie buried under these gravestones, but "de Eere der Burgerij", the cream of early XIX century Leiden bourgeoisie: industrials, traders, administrators, explorers, scientists. So Dutch...Yesterday, light was sharp and crystal clear, so I grabbed my camera and ran out to take some close shots of Groenesteeg's gravestones. |
