| 説明 | Let's face it... my life isn't interesting. Either is yours...mostly. Take a look at your phone's photostream and you'll see what I mean. If you delete your "bad" shots and only keep the ones you deem aesthetically pleasing or relevant, you are only telling a part of the story. If you share the same, ditto.I'm not usually a fan of using someone else's quotes to justify my own work but it trends well in social media circles so let's do this thing...John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans."This series is about context. It is about time. It is about documentation. It is about composition. It is about focus. It is about lighting. It is about curation. It is about truth. It is about lies. It is about process. It is about exposure. It is about sharing. It is about staying relevant within social media circles. It is about none of the above. This series is about life. The photos were taken by me, but were randomly "curated" and "composed" by Everpix based on the time of capture. Since I do not delete my images, the results can be... results. I'll leave it up to the algorithms to decide what was important on a particular day of my life; however, I will have a hand in what "stories" I present to the public.I decided to start with this image since I think it encapsulates the spirit of the project succinctly. The house is a seemingly random collection of architectural styles pieced together to form a composition, much like the grid of images themselves. The image visually represents the project as well as the unfiltered nature of social media sharing in general.I like the way the house reflects the composition. I also like the vertical rhythm of the white labels along the right side of the image. I like the way the lone lilly pad references the white labels I referenced above. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below! |
