| 説明 | This shop window must have been like a magnet to the children (and adults!) of Bridge Street, Waterford - Licorice Allsorts, Mixed Gums, Fry's Shilling and Raspberry Cream Choclate... Really gorgeous array of early 20th century goods on display here! Our eagle-eyed Niall McAuley noticed that someone in the Poole Photographic Studio had scratched out reflections in Mortimer’s window – a sort of early Photoshopping. Niall could read FAM… …OTEL. He searched through other photos in our Poole Collection and found Breen’s FAMILY HOTEL on Bridge Street opposite Mortimer’s. This gave us an exact address for Mortimer’s at No. 2 Bridge Street. Thanks to Paul O’Farrell, we now know the girl in the doorway was Mary Mortimer. “She later married a Tommy Corcoran and they ran the shop and adjoining pub after her father died”.Photographer: A.H.
