| 説明 | Andricus quercusramuli is often called the "cotton wool" gall. It is a male catkin gall on Quercus robur and probably Quercus petraea. It appears to be, in Kent at least, a genuinely scarce gall. I have yet to find and rear the autumn agamic gall. This photograph shows a gall high in the oak canopy but the gall can also be found lower down. The gall appears in May and the adult wasps emerge in late June. Each "cotton wool" gall will produce many cynipid wasps as well as parasitoids. |
