| 説明 | Sixty people held signs and banners on the sunny sidewalk in front of Military Recruiting offices in Tucson on the morning of June 1 to call for the immediate release of military whistleblower Bradley Manning. Some of the messages on the signs read "We are Bradley Manning", "Exposing War Crimes is NOT a Crime", "Bradley Manning: Hero Not Criminal" and "Whistleblowing is Not a Crime". There were many honks of support from drivers passing by, and demonstrators expressed interest in holding other rallies during the months of Manning's trial. Members of the Nuclear Resister, Veterans for Peace, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Alliance for Global Justice, Occupy Tucson and other Tucson groups joined the protest.Tucson activist Felice Cohen-Joppa said, "It is the people who commit war crimes who should be on trial, not the courageous whistleblowers who reveal those crimes. I am among the many people throughout the world who believe that Bradley Manning is a hero for revealing truths that were hidden from the public. Whistleblowers should be thanked and honored, not punished." |
