And the rather liberal photography policy (only flash was prohibited) meant I could bring in my Nikon DSLR and shoot away.Wilson Phillips is one of the most successful female vocal groups of all time; their self-titled debut album had sold over ten million copies worldwide when released in 1990. The trio is made up of Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson, who are daughters of Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, and childhood friend Chynna Phillips, the daughter of John and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas. The pedigree of these three ladies was one reason why they had proved so successful.Wilson Phillips broke up only a few years after the 1990 debut, but has since regrouped and released new material.Wilson Phillips names ABBA as an early inspiration, and to bring that point home, audience members were invited onto the stage to dance while the trio sang "Dancing Queen" and "Does Your Mother Know?" Carnie Wilson is having a blast with some children. |
