| 説明 | A glass of Brugse Zot Blond from Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan on draft at the brewery tavern in Bruges.Brugse Zot Blond is a 6% Belgian ale brewed after the same recipe that Leon Maes invented back in 1856, supposedly the only place this beer is sold unfiltered on draft is at the brewery tavern. The beer poured a slightly hazy, deep golden color with a white head. It had a sweet aroma with notes of ripe berries. Mouthfeel was medium to light. It had a nice malty flavor but was surprisingly bitter, especially towards the finish. Overall, the beer felt a bit thin for such a strong bitterness.TriviaThe name Brugse Zot means "Bruges Fools" and is said to originate with Emperor Maximillian of Austria, who had acquired Flanders through his marriage to Mary of Burgundy. At one time, in the late 15th century, he was staying in Bruges to watch the famous annual Holy Blood Procession, in which the locals jump around and make mad gestures. The next day some citizens had approached Maximillian to ask him sponsor an institution for the mentally ill. Maximillian had replied, "Just close the city gates and Bruges will be one big mad house". Since then, people of Bruges has been known as Brugse Zot.[Read more] |
