| 説明 | As I develop yet another roll of B&W negatives to hang in the shower, it amazes me just how therapeutic, not to mention how creatively rewarding this photography art form has become - even more so, after just watching the superb not-to-be-missed new documentary "The Mexican Suitcase" (www.themexicansuitcase.com) that's now streaming on Netflix. It's the story of the whereabouts of 4,500 unique Spanish Civil War Black and White negatives of three war photographers, most prominently Robert Capa (with the supporting role of his fellow photographers Gerda Taro and David "Chim" Seymour), that had been stored in three boxes which had made their way via suitcase to Mexico with Spanish refugees back in the 1939 or 1940 period. But they got lost, no one knew what had happened to them, or even if they still existed, until the 1990s when they were re-discovered in the belongings of a recently deceased Mexican general. The negatives became known as the "Mexican Suitcase", and eventually in 2007 made it over to the International Center of Photography in New York, partly because Robert Capa's brother, Cornell Capa, was associated with it and it was thought he was the rightful heir to his brother's long lost negatives.Leica M6 & 50mm SummicronB+W Yellow FilterKodak TMax 400 (@ 320)Tmax Dev (1+4 @ 6.75 min)Plustek 7600i & Vuescan |
