| 説明 | A California Highway Patrol Commercial Enforcement Ford F-450, seen in Oakland, CA's Jack London Square. Taken by a Nikon D40x at ISO 400 with a Sigma 17-70mm ƒ 2.8-4 OS HSM macro lens (at 32)You really don't want to see one of these pulling you over if you're driving a big-rig: the chances of you not getting at least a fix-it ticket (in addition to whatever infraction had the officer pulling you over in the first place...) are vanishingly small! (the officers manning these trucks know all the regulations [more than most truckers do...] and will check everything!) If you're unlucky, and you've been pushing it, you may get anything from the truck red-tagged until a mechanic can fix whatever problem the officer finds, to yourself told to "Take a 34 hour restart right here, and don't move until that's over!" I've heard of these guys giving a fix-it ticket to a brand-new tractor right off the showroom floor!- And don't bet that your company (if you're working for a company) will pay any fines (which start in the 500 dollar range - and only go UP from there...) imposed! (You're supposed to do a pre-drive inspection, remember?) |
