| 説明 | Galls of Neuroterus saliens (sexual generation). These galls are found on Quercus cerris Turkey Oak. The agamic generation is also on this species of oak. I have seen trees with so many of these red galls that the tree looks as if it is in flower! I have reared both the gall wasp and parasitoids. All of the parasitoids are chalcids (Chalcidoidea) and are native species that have quickly exploited this new resource - Neuroterus saliens is a new invasive species in the UK and was found in Kent only a few years ago. |
