| 説明 | On the evening of the 7 March 2013, we went to the Lantern Festival at the Confucius Temple in Nanjing. This extraordinary lantern was erected directly over the temple's well. The lantern shows a rabbit holding a fish and riding a wave of water (or maybe escaping from a gush of water). It is a representation of the story of the well: someone (my mind is fuzzy) saw a rabbit disappear down a hole. When he dug, he found this well. But then he turned out to be a traitor... I don't remember. This is why I should snap a pic of the extended labels when I like the stories they tell. :-( |
