| 説明 | This is what local ordinances currently require in Orleans Parish: When dry-sanding lead paint, you must cover the work area with a tarp. This is because lead is extremely toxic to humans and to children in particular, and the lead dust generated by sanding can and does fly everywhere.Note also the covering on the fence; I assume this is an extra step taken to further impede the flow of lead dust.I'm posting this photo to document the legal way of doing things. We see so many houses sanded with no protection whatsoever. It's nice to see some people do observe the law. I'm not saying this is the best and safest way to do it, but to my understanding it is what the law requires if you're dry-sanding. It would probably be better to do wet-scraping and forgo the sanders entirely. |
