| 説明 | The land next to the bypass in Selly Oak looks like someone keeps driving / riding all over it.Approx at this site was where the Dudley Canal used to join the Worcester & Birmingham Canal at Selly Oak Junction.But the part of the canal in this area closed when the Lapal Tunnel collapsed.The Battery Park land is awaiting development, alongside the existing canal. Sainsbury's were planning on building a new store somewhere on this site (last year the Sainsbury's at Selly Oak Triangle got renovated).I was wondering how you get onto the Worcester & Birmingham Canal in Selly Oak, as there is no canalside walk in this area.The only access I know of is in Bournville (by the station) or Somerset Road (in Edgbaston). Which means a potential long walk between those two points without bridges to leave at. |
