| 説明 | The churchyard at the Parish Church of Saint John-at-Hampstead. It is the oldest churchyard to survive unspoilt in the centre of Greater London. Famous people buried here include John Constable, Philadelphia Hancock, Elizabeth Austen, Norman Shaw, Joanna Baillie, Henry Cort, Thomas Gardnor, John Merry, Nathaniel Booth, William Hart, Elizabeth Norton, Felix Hopkins, John Harrison, Philip Fenton, Thomas Houlditch, Thomas Packer and John Hindley. The churchyard closed in 1878. There's an additional burial ground which includes graves of Hugh Gaitskell, Jay Kendall, Peter Cook, George du Maurier, and Michael, Jack and Peter Llewellyn Davies. However, this grave is not of any of those people. I don't know who it is, I just liked the skulls and stuff, and thought I could find out later!Hertfordshire GOC's 9 February 2013 walk, which took place in Hampstead, London. We passed various interesting buildings in the area and various parts of Hampstead Heath. It was a fairly wet, dull day. I took lots of photos on the walk so please check out the other photos in the set! |
