説明 | A pub in Wilmcote named after Mary Arden (Shakespeare's mother) who it is supposed lived nearby in the 16th century.At the T-junction where Station Road meets Church Road and Aston Cantlow Road.The pub was Grade II listed under the name Swan House Hotel. ASTON CANTLOW THE GREEN SP15NE (West side) Wilmcote 8/30 Swan House Hotel 11/12/69 (Formerly listed as Swan House) - II House, now public house. Early C19. Brick; front whitewashed roughcast with painted rendered quoins. Slate roof with coped gables and kneelers; brick end stacks. Original plan indeterminate. 3 storeys; 3-window range. 6-panelled door and overlight with glazing bars, Reeded doorcase with unusual shaped brackets. Ground floor has canted bar' windows. 16-pane sashes on ground and first floors, with central 12-pane sash. Rendered flat arches. Lower second floor, Interior altered.
