説明 | Native cool-season to yearlong-green perennial. Low-growing C3 herb, to 4 cm tall and with creeping stems that root at the nodes. Leaves are kidney-shaped to nearly round, slightly to densely hairy on both surfaces and 5-25 mm long; margins are entire. Flowers are solitary on 1-5 cm long stems and have 5 tiny 2-4 mm long, whitish petals. Flowers mostly in spring and summer. A minor component in pastures, woodlands and forests. Most abundant in lightly shaded areas where it can form a short dense groundcover. Grows where bare ground is available and/or competition is reduced. Native biodiversity. An indicator of bare ground and reduced pasture competition. As plants grow very close to the ground, it is of little importance to grazing enterprises.Grows best during wet periods; drought intolerant and produces little during dry times. Very tolerant of close grazing. |
