| 説明 | down home talent show open mic at the los osos barn.how we even found out about it was serepticiously delicious. a next-door neighboor who is a good friend w/ b. told d. that there was a potluck at the los osos barn, hosted by jonas."hosted by jonas" was all we needed to hear. jonas is a local musician who plays old-timey banjo, mandolin and guitar. he is friends with our friend stu who plays old-timey and irish. and then they are all friends with all these other local musicians who play everything from the bailalaika to the penny whistle.my plans of staying home doing whoever knows what was quickly, and happily abandoned.the barn was filled w/ salt-of-the earth type folks aged 12 to 80. each band or performer had three songs, tho many got up to back up each other.the highlight for me was when gilles apap got up to play some bach and then segued into something foot stompingly irish with stu mason.it was a blast and word has it that they have booked the barn once a month for the next five months. i'm hoping to perform at the next one. :) |
