| 説明 | This is a big bugger- about 2mm, bigger than the usual springtails I photograph, and it took up most of my view finder. As usual I was chasing much smaller things! Still, I couldn't resist. They are rather splendid. The opalescence is caused by the waxy substance they exude to keep themselves from drying out, reacting to the flash. The brown is the gut contents.
