| 説明 | Really, it's just jalapeño poppers with four different but amazing cheeses. There is of course a story behind this and the twitter-sized version of it goes like this. My wife and I finally got a kid-free date night and decided to try a a new eatery, as it turns-out they server the worst poppers know to man. So, being the good culinary citizen that I am I took it upon myself to write the wrong in the flavor cosmos and make poppers that were hot, flavorful and at the perfect temperature to make your eyes flutter and your toes curl. When you approach food with flavor, temperature and quality in mind, you don't need a basket full of food. You can get all of the flavor and variety you need with two sliced, fresh Jalapeños. How you ask? 2 medium, very firm Jalapeños sliced for length. Remember, you're this will hold your cheese so cut with a purpose. Pick 4 awesome cheeses and stuff them into the Jalapeños without breaking the pepper. We chose Dubliner, Cheddar, Irish Whiskey and FetaBake at about 375 for 30 minutes before drizzling a little garlic infused grass-fed butter and/or good olive oil on top to help the cheese crisp a bit as you put the peppers back in the oven for a few minutes. Salt and PepperA little tip: If your splitting these poppers, the pepper is hotter the closer you get to the steam. So in my house this means, the wife gets the bottom-half of the pepper and I get the steam side. Sidebar: My very curious kids were quite offended that they didn't get in on the Jalapeño poppers and I was required to explain the power of peppers to a 5 and 9 year old. In the end I was given a pass but only with the promise of making a kid friendly version of Jalapeño poppers that will use baby sweet-peppers in place of the "melt your face off" peppers I described to the heathens. |
