| 説明 | Limestone in the Mississippian of Kentucky, USA.This is an outcrop of Girkin Limestone, the uppermost of three Mississippian-aged limestone units that hosts Mammoth Cave in Kentucky - the longest cave on Earth. As of fall 2017, 412 miles of passages have been explored and mapped.Fine-grained limestones (micrites, or lime mudstones) and fossiliferous limestones (wackestone) of the upper Girkin Limestone can be closely examined along the Dixon Cave Trail in Mammoth Cave National Park.
