説明 | Completed: Overhead ViewShown here is an overhead view of the completed installation from the water source to the water meter. The Water Pressure Tank is connected, and all of the components are attached to the Water Pressure Tank Manifold. The components on the Manifold are a hose bibb for draining the pipes, a pressure relief valve to protect the Water Pressure Tank, and an Amtrol Model DC2 Digital Pump Control. A separate pressure gauge is not needed so the left hand port has been closed with a threaded plug. This Digital Pump Control (the black box) is electrically connected to the Well Control System, and through a small pipe it is mechanically connected to the Manifold. It is this device that signals when the water pump cut-in water pressure of 40 psi has been reached and when water pump cut-out water pressure of 60 psi has been reached. It is this device that controls the on/off cycling of the cistern water pump that fills the Water Pressure Tank when water is needed from the cistern. The pressure settings for this device are programmable. This device also presents the current water system pressure in psi.If you look back to Start: Parts Layout you will see a gray box. This box is a Square D brand "PumpTrol" pressure switch. This type of mechanical pressure switch has been reliably used on domestic water well systems for many decades. A separate mechanical pressure gauge must be used with this device to indicate the water pressure.Important Step: Before turning on the water to the completed installation, we carefully set the air pressure in the Water Pressure Tank to 38 psi. This is the recommended value below the operating cut-in value of 40 psi. If the water had been turned on when there was very low or even no air pressure in the Water Pressure Tank, the diaphragm would have ruptured. This, then, is a critically important step that must not be missed.Important Note: If the Digital Pump Control cut-out function fails, the pressure relief valve will open at 125 psi and the Water Pressure Tank will be protected from bursting. After this event happens, the Water Pressure Tank diaphragm will have ruptured and the Water Pressure Tank would need to be replaced. Fortunately, this event does not happen very often. This Water Pressure Tank has a current price of more than one thousand dollars, not including delivery and installation costs.Observe that a pressure reading of 53 psi is presented on the Digital Pump Control, so you know that the house now has water and that all components are in operation with no leaks. Yea!You can visit Amtrol at www.amtrol.com.Note that the water meter is not an essential component. We use this water meter to gauge our water use and to monitor the consistency of the water available from the water well. |
