| 説明 | The chapel was built in the 8th Century. In 1430, it was renewed. Two ventilation shafts on the meadow below and a telephone connection box a little further up aroused my curiosity. Pfäfers, Wartenstein, Switzerland, Oct 25, 2012.Update Dec 3, 2012:Below this hill where the chapel stands on it, there is a natural underground lake which was used since the First World War as a water reservoir. Water flows still in and out of the lake but it is no longer used. This underground cistern was known much earlier, and one reason that the castle Wartenstein was built nearby.Update March 28, 2020:The two ventilation chimneys belong to a small artillery command post. |
