| 説明 | During my visit to South Dakota I sought out examples of the discontinuity that inevitably happens when the survey attempts to fit a 2D grid of square miles onto a spherical surface (the Earth). The inspiration was a story in Neal Stephenson's novel REAMDE where a biker on a relaxing night ride through the American mid west suddenly encounters a correction in the road and ends up in a corn field.See the description of the rectangular survey system.The correction depicted is between Walworth County and Campbell County. |
