| 説明 | On a cool, cloudy morning with occasional drizzles, Space Shuttle Endeavour spends the entire morning parked in a strip mall parking lot just outside Los Angeles International Airport, widening the track of its ground transport dollies to prepare for the journey to Exposition Park. This is the first and only time that a Space Shuttle will ever be seen parked at a strip mall!Pretty large, very enthusiastic crowds, and a heavy police presence to match, though I found the police officers' demeanor to be outright relaxed and friendly.Although I had seen Enterprise before, partly covered and scaffolded for restoration back in 2004, this is my first-ever sighting of a spaceworthy Space Shuttle. (Due to family commitments, I was unable to spot the Endeavour during its scenic flights over Los Angeles three weeks prior.) It is a majestic sight, and I am glad that it now permanently belongs to its birthplace, Southern California.The Space Shuttle's heat tiles do not like moisture, and I hope the drizzle did not do any serious damage. |
