| 説明 | A Nocturnal landscape, "Starring Polaris and Cassiopeia, and the Milky way"Sometimes you just gotta take a min and look up preferably on a moonless night where there is little light pollution. This was taken on Hawks nest scenic highway, along the delaware river about 10 miles away from Port Jervis,Ny.i made this shot with the purpose of shooting Cassiopeia and the northern milky way, I didnt realize that i composed Polaris in the upper left of the frame. Polaris, The north star, is great focal point when shooting star trails and having lined my camera up with polaris allows for long exposure times with the camera without showing the motion of the stars in the night sky. I usually use the rule of 600 when configuring shutter speed and exposure time, meaning 18mm focal length allows for about 33 seconds of exposure before the trailing motion of stars shows in the scene. apparently if you align the camera due north or south the length of exposure time can be increased a bit.
