| 説明 | Just under five hours out of Portland, Oregon, and after two weeks on the road (half of it in Canada), I have finally re-entered my home state of California. I am parked for a few minutes at the viewing area on I-5, just north of the town of Yreka.Snow-capped Mt. Shasta is visible in the distance, and the I-5 will continue to take me south just to the right of the parasite volcano visible to the right of Mt. Shasta, on its way to Redding, Sacramento, and further south.California being as huge as it is, Los Angeles is over 600 miles away, and I would not arrive home for another 11 hours, including some downtime in Redding for photography and dinner. Since California's Central Valley is not scenic at all, and since the final stretch through San Joaquin Valley often gets unexpected traffic jams due to all the heavy traffic between San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, I chose to keep driving overnight and arrive in Los Angeles in time to beat the morning rush hour. |
