| 説明 | Manship is best known for his statue of Prometheus in Rockefeller Plaza, but a bit further to the north I found these statuettes of two Native American subjects in the 'Visible Storage' section of the Met Museum. It's interesting to compare the difference in styles between the two works executed about 9 years apart.I must confess my interest is mainly in the later figure with its dynamic running pose - not to mention its curiously erotic peekaboo loincloth that tempts me to call it "Indian Hunter with Dog and Ass"... |
