説明I decided to document the making of dark skinned Littlest Pet Shop Blythe dolls :)Choose a dry day. Humidity is not good for painting. And remember not to wear your fave pair of jeans.1. First, gather your materials. Paint: I did a little research around here and discovered some people used SEM paint for vinyl (the only place I can buy it from Argentina is ebay. Be warned most sellers are in the US and won't ship overseas as the paint is aerosol). Colors I tried: Cordovan brown, Bluebird brown and Camel. There's also a lighter shade, Saddle Tan, but I haven't tried it.You also want some tiny rubber bands and saran wrap (to protect doll hair if you don't want to reroot), masking tape, scissors, pencil, latex gloves (and goggles, I forgot to picture), paper clips, vase and chopsticks or something to hold the doll head. A big box and lots of paper. Of course, let's not forget our victim. Let's call her brave volunteer.2. If you want to keep the original hair, wrap it tightly with some saran (if your girls has bangs lift them upwards with a tiny rubber band around the face first). 3. Carefully tape around the face and back. Make little cuts along the tape to help it follow the head shape.4. Now put a piece of tape on the eye and draw the eyesocket. Cut the shape and carefully tape back the eyes to protect them. Don't forget the lashes, tape them down. It would be a lot easier if we could remove the eyes.. but putting them back on a painted face sounds tricky to me. 5. Start painting!Shake that can first. Shake it well! And test on a piece of paper instead of your girl. Once you're sure the paint is good, do quick spritzes while twirling the head. Keep it light, do not overspray.6. To me, the easiest way to paint the body is to hold a paper clip around the neck. Pose the arms and legs like she's running, and do short sprays all around. Hang her in the box to dry. Drying time, if you made those coats thin, it should be less than an hour. Remember to switch around legs and arms position for the next coat. It should take about 3 - 4 coats to get the job done. Let the last coat dry overnight before reassembling your doll.
