| 説明 | The USDA Plant Database assigns these to the Asclepiadaceae family, but the APG III classification system now places them in Apocynaceae.I only saw one of these. It was growing in dry rocky soil under the patchy canopy of mixed deciduous and evergreen trees above the cliffs of Mather gorge, on the Virginia side of the Potomac river. I had never seen a member of the Asclepias genus that thrived in such dry conditions. A tiny, delicate, beautiful thing. |
