| 説明 | According to many tourist guides in the summertime it is possible to get over to the island using the services of the local fishermen, they usually charge around €8 per person for the return journey. Just ask for the Island Ferry. Journey time is about five minutes, it's only 500m from Coliemore Harbour to the Island's jetty." However I have read in local newspapers that access services to Dalkey island from Coliemore Harbour ceased in early summer 2011. According to various sources Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have not been prepared to grant a licence for the provision of such services since then. While access to the island from Coliemore Harbour has been a feature of life in Dalkey for many generations, the future of this traditional service is now in doubt.Colimore harbour used to be the main port for Dublin between the 14th & 17th centuries during times when the river Liffey silted up. |
