| 説明 | A bottle of Oude Gezue 2009 from Geuzestekerij De Cam in Gooik, Belgium, at Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri in Oslo, Norway.De Cam has been around for 15 years now, but is still very much a sparetime project with a small production of sour ales. As the name, geuzestekerij, implies, De Cam does not brew its own beer but blends lambics purchased from other lambic brewers. This bottle of Oude Geuze was from 2009, making it three years old when I tasted it. With a strength of 6% abv, the sour ale poured a slightly hazy, orange color with a bubbly, white head. It sported a lovely sour aroma, kind of funky apples - sour, green apples with a touch of barnyard. It had a wonderful, fizzy mouthfeel - great carbonation. The flavor started out with green apples, nice and sour. It was fairly dry and sported a mild bitter finish with a mild fruity sourness in the aftertaste. Mildly funky too.Overall a fairly mild, fruity sour ale with hints of brett, a bit like Boon Mariage Parfait, but even more fruity. A really well made oude geuze and very drinkable.---Trivia: Geuze is usually a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambics, which must have prompted the text on this label: "1 fles = 3 jaar werk" or "1 bottle = 3 years work". |
