| 説明 | And what a terrific day's walking I have had, starting off with an ascent of the island's highest hill the wonderful Goat Fell then through the coastal villages of Corrie and Sannox followed by the coastside pleasure of the walk north to Lochranza with its romantic ruined castle. And from there the challenge of the Postman's Walk to lonely Catacol, followed by a pleasant beach walk to meet the quite A841 as it turns south along the western coast of the island. The combination of rugged coast and steep banking up to the road (seen here on the right of the picture) had me worried about how far I would need to walk before finding a camp spot, but a few miles south of Catacol I pitched here with these fine views back along the edge of the Kilbranan Sound towards Catacol. A good climb to start the day and 24 miles of walking behind me and a pleasant night in front, all in all, very satisfactory in all dimensions. |
