| 説明 | Yikes! Here is another sea urchin with really thick spines, many of them broken. This is actually another variety of sea urchin called pencil sea urchin or slate pencil sea urchin. Almost all other sea urchins we'd see so far had slender spines. The last straw was when this creature started moving. This specimen is on the ledge of the dhow. Sea urchins can be very dangerous if you step on them by mistake. Most are non toxic, but thee aer some toxic varieties as well. (Musandam, Oman, Mar. 2005) (Poor quality as this was my first tryst with digital, due to which I was shooting at a measly 1mpxl resolution) |
