| 説明 | Small wetland at the headwaters of Doe Run, a mountain stream in Loyalsock State Forest, Lycoming County.The wetland borders Ellenton Grade, a woods road that connects with the Old Loggers Path. In the wetland is a mat of sphagnum moss containing pitcher plants, sundews, spruces, tamaracks, and other vegetation rarely seen in Pennsylvania. Doe Run emerges from the mat in a series of springs.Similar wetlands, usually associated with stream headwaters, are found elsewhere on the broad, low-relief summit of Sullivan Mountain. The Devils Elbow Natural Area contains several fine examples. |
