Boon in Lembeek, Belgium.Kriek Mariage Parfait is an 8% abv traditional oude kriek, that is an old lambic sour ale steeped in sour cherries before rementing in bottle. This bottle was from the 2008 harvest, so about 4 years old when we had it in June 2012.The beer poured a clear, deep red color with a fine pink head. It sported a nice aroma of sour cherries, oak and with hints of sugary sweetness underneath. It tasted of ripe, sour cherries, cherry pits and some candy sugar notes but was overall a well balanced and delicious fruit sour ale. |
