| 説明 | A 6 foot long by about 2½ feet high section of spalled concrete on the side rail of the Pedestrian bridge over the open sewer umm, Rio Tijuana. This was the most egregious example seen, but there were other places on the bridge with similarly shoddy, but not as large, patches of missing concrete. (note, for example, the small patch in the upper crossbar of this I-beam...) Taken in Tijuana, BCN, Mexico by a Nikon D40x with a Nikon 18-55mm VR kit lens. (at 34)Whoever, or whatever department, is responsible for the maintenance of this bridge should inspect the entire bridge and fix all these patches with better quality concrete! They (I'm assuming it's a department) should do this not only for safety, (heaven only knows what's out of sight!) but because, as this bridge is mostly used by tourists from the USA, it gives a bad first impression of Tijuana... I'd also say that a criminal investigation into why such poor concrete was included into this (fairly) new bridge was in order...I'm also calling this "neglected", not to mention "rusty". (the re-bar)Update: as of 1/2013, these railings had been demolished, and new, steel (I think...) railings put in their place. The bridge's pavement had also been smoothed out and was being resurfaced. |
