| 説明 | Maasdam had an ice sculpture demonstration by the main swimming pool on the Lido deck one afternoon. The sculptor is close to the final result, probably a sailfish. He is using one of the finer tools. The axe with which he started to shape the lock of ice is with other tools at the lower left. The job took about 20 minutes, from a rectangular block of ice to the finished work. I watched an ice sculpture demonstration on a Celebrity ship last year. It was just a demonstration, and the result was left to melt in the sun. This sculpture was of better quality. After it was finished, the crew took it away to a freezer. It was probably displayed at the farewell dinner that evening. |
