| 説明 | 22 May 2012At the UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn today, young people took action to highlight how carbon trading is distracting developed countries from making real, ambitious emissions reductions.The youth constituency at the UN climate talks staged a mock-celebration of new market mechanisms. ‘Carbon traders’ in suits and party gear celebrated carbon offsets, while others called upon negotiators not to be distracted by the false promises of carbon trading.The action highlighted how market mechanisms allow developed countries to avoid making real domestic emission reductions, placing a burden on developing countries and putting local communities and indigenous peoples at further risk.
