| 説明 | At a celebratory dinner kicking off Susan G. Komen’s second Israel Race for the Cure, Ambassador Daniel Shapiro and his wife Julie Fisher honored NGO leaders, health professionals, and politicians promoting women’s issues. Noting that breast cancer is a disease which does not discriminate, Ambassador Shapiro pointed out the diversity of the 6,500 registered participants and his pleasure at seeing people of so many different backgrounds come together to support this common cause. The Ambassador also discussed the U.S. Government’s strong commitment to women’s issues via initiatives such as the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security. Susan G. Komen’s Global Ambassador Hadassah Lieberman and Senator Joseph Lieberman also addressed the crowd, expressing their excitement at Komen’s plans to make the race an annual event. |
