| 説明 | Introduced variable C4 grass to 70 cm tall, with weak sprawling stems that root at the nodes. Leaves are hairy towards their base and leaf sheaths are hairy; nodes usually less so. Ligules are membranous and 1-2 mm long. Flowerheads are mostly digitate to subdigitate with 4-13 branches (3-30 cm long, initially erect, spreading later). Spikelets are rather densely arranged, paired, 1 pedicel very short, the other about as long as the spikelet. A native of temperate regions, it is found in disturbed areas on well-drained soils, where there is low ground cover (e.g. heavily grazed or cultivated paddocks). A weed of summer crops and pastures. Only productive under good moisture and fertility; quickly dies off with frost or dry conditions, leaving bare patches in the pasture. Thrives under grazing systems that encourage bare ground. |
