| 説明 | Okay, this is my final visualization of accidental deaths in the US based on CDC data. I fixed the sort order of the columns and added a cool skull and crossbones. I think it's pretty good now.Why did I do this? Well, I'm trying to get good at making visualizations for one thing, but I was prompted to look at this data during a stupid internet argument about accidental deaths related to firearms.The bigger and darker the bubble, the worse the problem is, and the data shows in the grand scheme of things accidental firearm deaths are not as big a problem as some people make them out to be. People in most age groups are more likely to die from things like accidental poisoning, drowning or simply from a bad fall. Accidental gun deaths are more common among young people 15-34 years old. It's my argument that to reduce the incident of accidental gun death in that problem area age segment, gun safety education is the best plan, rather than passing tons of unrealistic laws with the intention of ridding guns from society altogether. |
