| 説明 | A closer view of the dentist's surgery used for the POWs by their Japanese aggressors. This is an exhibit in the JEATH Museum in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. The flash had charged by this time, but it only goes on to highlight the deplorable condition of the exhibits in the museum. I read at least one blogger refer to the condition of the museum's exhibits as an insult to what the poor unfortunate POWs had gone through during construction by the Japanese of the Death Railway between Thailand and Burma. This was the condition when I visited in 2008- I understand some repairs and modifications have been carried out later on, over the years but I cannot report on those as this is my album from 2008. Detailed notes about the Death Railway appear throughout this album. (see previous and subsequent pictures). (Kanchanaburi, Thailand, Oct. 2008) |
